Are you having a hard time deciding which Advent calendar you should get for you kids this year? Let’s have a look at both Playmobil Advent Calendars and Lego Advent calendars to help you make up your mind (or confuse you even further
)
If your child is into Playmobil, then it’s easy – get him/her a Playmobil Advent calendar. One of the most popular Playmobil Advent Calendars is the Playmobil Advent Calendar Christmas in the Forest (Playmobil Advent Calendar 4155). Everyday your child will get a different piece to build the “Santa in the Forest” scene. Although this is recommended for children over 4, parents with children as young as nearly 3 have reported that is was a big hit with their youngster and it also taught them how to count up to 24. The little toys will last way beyond Christmas and will be a great addition to your child’s Playmobil collection.
Unlike the Lego Advent calendars, it does take a long time to set up a Playmobil Advent calendar, so prepare to spend an hour or so working out which part is what and then packing them into the tiny cardboard boxes.
This is what a happy customer had to say about the Playmobil Advent Calendar – Christmas in the Forest:
Brilliant value!
“My three-year-old daughter really enjoyed this advent calendar. She raced to open the door each morning. It’s been a great way to improve her counting over ten as she has to work out which number the following day will be.
I’d initially baulked at the price but when compared to how much you pay for individual Playmobil sets, it’s fantastic value as there’s loads in the calendar. Look forward to buying next year’s one!”
And this customer wasn’t that happy:
Disappointing compared to Lego
“Three kids, Boys 7 + 9 and Girl 4. Got boys lego advent calendars, girl the playmobil as thought it would be a) more age appropriate and b) couldn’t find suitable third variant of lego calendar.The playmobil is a huge disappointment, while cheaper than the lego ones, it shows! I wish I had found another Lego one.
The pieces are boring in comparison to the lego. For example lego box a: had bricks to build a snowman, box b: the pieces to build a blacksmith while the playmobil had one large lump of green plastic and two brown ‘twigs’ to build a tree.
I can see most of the playmobil ending up in the bin in 6 months time, while the lego will be still in active use (albeit as part of a larger lego collection)
In summary, product appears overpriced and of limited play value in comparison to (more expensive) alternatives.”
The Lego City Advent Calendar is one of the most popular Lego Advent Calendars. It comes with 24 individual gifts, including police and robber minifigures that your child can build and play with. This Lego Advent Calendar is the perfect addition to your existing LEGO sets and a great start to the festive holidays. This Advent calendar is recommended for children aged 5 to 12, but if your 4 year-old is already into Lego, you should consider this as their Advent Calendar this year.
